How RxTech Works
1
Patch RxTech into your online environment
RxTech secures your assets through a series of automated processes, mirroring your website to our local offline servers and redistributing to our online platform.
Is this secure?
Yes. RxTech collects weekly backups of your data and launches monthly instances of your website that never touch the world wide web unless you experience a breach.
2
RxTech begins to replicate your online environment
At this point, RxTech hops in and captures your first “snapshot.” A snapshot captures a perfect backup of your entire environment (infrastructure & data). RxTech copies the snapshot directly to our offline servers, and then finally to your recovery environment.
Once the snapshot is copied, RxTech will migrate your website to an online hosting environment. While your site exists “online” it will not be searchable or available. This online snapshot is only used when your primary site experiences critical failure.
3
Test Run
Once your first snapshot is created, it’s time to run a test. At this point, everything is entirely hands-off for you. Once RxTech has successfully redeployed your website, we’ll send you a confirmation email.
Will this impact my production workload?
No. Your real users will continue hitting your production environment at this time. RxTech is just spinning up a replica for you to test.
4
Failover when needed
When you need it, RxTech is standing by to restore your service.
If my website goes down, how will RxTech know?
During our onboarding process, we will recommend patching your RxTech rep into your website’s notifications. In the event you do not wish to patch us in, RxTech will provide documentation for what you need to do in the event of a critical failure.
Does RxTech update my DNS records?
The last step of any failover is to update DNS to point at your recovered environment. We leave this step to you so that you can direct your domain to your secure snapshot. This process is included during your onboarding with RxTech.
